How Range Pocket Protects Your Privacy and Your Firearm Information

A clear, user-friendly explanation of how Range Pocket keeps your data fully under your control.

How Range Pocket Protects Your Privacy and Your Firearm Information

Your firearm information is personal. How you train, what you collect, and which equipment you use are all sensitive details that deserve security and respect. That’s why Range Pocket was built around one core principle:

Your data stays with you.

This article explains how Range Pocket handles your information, what happens behind the scenes when you use the app, and the privacy principles that guide every feature we build.

Our Privacy Philosophy

From day one, we designed Range Pocket with a simple belief:

Firearm data should remain under the owner’s control — not on external servers, not in cloud services, and not on someone else’s infrastructure.

This means:

  • You don’t need an account to use the app.
  • Range Pocket works offline and does not depend on a network connection.
  • Everything you enter stays on your device unless you explicitly ask otherwise.

These principles guide every part of the Range Pocket experience.

Your Data Stays on Your Device

All information you add to Range Pocket — including firearms, range visits, ammo usage, accessories, notes, and photos — is stored locally on your iPhone.

It is not uploaded to any ArmorySync server.

It is not automatically shared or synced anywhere.

If you delete the app, all of your entries are removed with it. There is no remote copy stored elsewhere.

When Data Leaves Your Device (Only If You Ask)

Range Pocket does not send your information anywhere except in one specific, user-initiated case:

▶ Target Analysis

If you choose to analyze a target using the in-app Target Doctor feature, the target photo is sent temporarily to the analysis API so it can generate your results.

  • The photo is used only for the analysis.
  • It is not stored, saved, or added to any external database.
  • No other data from your app is transmitted.

If you never use target analysis, no data ever leaves your device.

Optional Account for Welcome Gift Redemption

Range Pocket does not require an account to use the app. You can log visits, manage firearms, and organize your equipment fully offline.

The only optional case where an account is needed is:

▶ Redeeming the Welcome Gift

An account is required solely to view and access the welcome gift. If you choose not to redeem it, you can use the app without ever registering.

No Analytics or Behavioral Tracking

Range Pocket does not collect:

  • usage analytics
  • behavioral data
  • personal identifiers
  • location history
  • firearm details
  • serial numbers

The only data potentially collected is crash reports, which are handled automatically by the mobile platform to improve stability.

There is no additional tracking implemented by ArmorySync.

No Cloud Sync (For Now)

At this time, Range Pocket does not sync any data to the cloud. The app is fully functional offline and does not rely on any remote servers.

We are exploring an optional feature for user-controlled cloud sync in early 2026, allowing users to back up their data to their own cloud service — not ours — while keeping the privacy-first design at the center.

This upcoming feature will always remain optional.

Our Commitment Moving Forward

As Range Pocket grows, our privacy approach will remain the same:

  • You own your data.
  • You control where it goes.
  • We only transmit information if you explicitly request it.

We will continue to design new features with transparency, responsibility, and user trust at the core.

Thank you for choosing Range Pocket — and for trusting ArmorySync to build tools that respect the privacy of every firearm owner.
